In lieu of gifts, if you'd like to donate to mari's mother's foundation in our honor we'd be, well, honored.

We've always strived to live a life that's out of the ordinary, but we're incredibly grateful for some of the more 'ordinary' things in life. We have all of our five senses, and all 40 fingers and toes. Many aren't nearly as lucky: 4 out of every 1000 children born in Colombia are born with severe hearing loss,  and most of them are in the communities with the least resources to support them. Paola, Mari's mother, founded CINDA to serve these children and their families, helping them develop 'normal' language skills so they too can strive to be extraordinary.

Sign language is a great help for many people, but can be isolating—imagine trying to get a job with only sign language. When diagnosed early, and when given the proper treatments, many deaf children can learn to hear and speak. It's an intensive, multi-year process, but CINDA has given the gift of oral language to thousands of children in all parts of Colombia, removing them from their isolation and giving them a better chance at living an ordinary—or extraordinary—life.

We're deeply inspired by CINDA's work, and would love nothing more than a donation in our honor. It's only in Spanish right now, but feel free to check out CINDA's website by clicking here. Otherwise don't hesitate to ask us anything about CINDA—we're love to share!

*This donation link will take you to a PayPal page—donations will be delivered to our personal PayPal account, and we'll personally transfer them to Fundación CINDA. We're not evil, we promise.
