Anapoima: The Grand Finale

When we began planning this wedding tour, we wanted it to be low-key and easy-to-plan. We didn't understand why weddings had to be such hard work to plan! So when Mari's sister, Camila, offered to help us plan our last party on Mari's father's farm in Anapoima, we gladly took her up on it.

Little did we realize that Camila, with lots of support from our friends and family, was planning a party that was beyond our wildest expectations. We entered with the visiting Gringos, and were amazed to find a beautifully decorated cocktail area on the front lawn, an exquisitely decorated tent and dining area, an excellent DJ, and sunflowers everywhere. It was stunning.

And so we partied, surrounded by our friends and Mari's father's side of the family, ultimately culminating in a handful of us in the pool, dressed in our wedding best.

What a spectacular end to our wedding tour—thank you Camila for planning it!

Bogotá: Futból and a Party in Our New Home

A couple weeks after our final tour stop in the US, we picked up the party again in our new home of Bogotá. We had a dozen or so friends (including Danny's parents and aunt!) make the trip down to Bogotá to be with us, and we had a great time showing them around the city. Luckily their visit coincided with an exciting game between Argentina and Colombia which we had a great time watching at Andres. Unluckily, Colombia lost. But in true Colombian fashion, the party didn't stop.

After a few days of touring around the city, we had a lovely party in our new (still under construction!) apartment with Mari's mother's side of the family. We told stories, toasted to lasting love, and ate delicious food prepared by Mari's cousin Miguel. Such a lovely party to celebrate our marriage, and to warm our new home!

Thanks to Pam and Lyn for the photos!

Photo Shoot in LA

We're fortunate to have some really, really talented friends, like Brian and Allison Callaway of Callaway Gable. They're some of the most talented wedding photographers in the world, and we had a great time doing a shoot with them in LA. These are just a few of the amazing shots we took together!

SF and NY: A party here, a party there.

OH NO! We forgot to take pictures...

We regret that we didn't take better pictures, but after driving up the coast we held a wonderful party in San Francisco before flying across to New York, where we held another party. We were so lucky to see cousins, parents, friends, colleagues and random strangers who all shared with us love and well wishes. Only two parties left!

Thanks Joanne for the pictures!

Official Wedding Pictures, Elvis and All.

We've finally received our official photos from the wedding ceremony! Proof that Elvis did, indeed, appear in the desert. Many thanks to Myrna Loy photography for the pictures!

Driving up the Coast (and only breaking down twice!)

Everyone should hang a "Just Married" sign on their car. So many honks, so many thumbs ups, so many congratulations yelled—it's impossible not to be happy. And so, as we drove up the coast over the past two days, we were in heaven. So what if our trunk locked shut? And who cares if we got a flat tire and had to patch it with a cigarette butt? Mari's finger will heal from the time she slammed it in the door. And that time that the car fully broke down, leaving us to take a taxi the last couple hours of our trip? No big deal. It was such an amazing adventure, and we loved every minute of it.

Rest in peace, Buick. Now on to San Francisco!

LA: An Airstream, a party, a concert, a photo shoot and a few hamburgers.

Somehow Mari managed to find an Airstream on a rooftop in Los Angeles, and that's where we slept while in Los Angeles. Amazing!

We squeezed in an amazing U2 concert with Mari's brother and sister-in-law, had a really fun photo shoot with the incredibly talented Brian and Allison Callaway, ate some of the best hamburgers of our lives, and had a fantastic party with our friends and family. Unfortunately we were too busy having fun to take pictures of the party but we're so grateful for all who came—it was so wonderful to celebrate with you!

Leaving Las Vegas

After 2 jam-packed, magical days in Las Vegas, we headed on to Los Angeles. We left the Shelby Cobra  behind, and traded it for a 1970 Buick Gran Sport convertible. Not a bad trade! We drove a scenic route through the desert, stopping at the Bottle Tree Ranch and Betty Sue's diner before making our way to Los Angeles.

Vegas: We're Married!!

It was a simple ceremony: Elvis, a really (really!) nice car, a teardrop trailer, a guy, a girl, a dog and a whole lot of love in the middle of the desert. And now we're married! More details (and photos) to come, but here are a few we took on our phones.

Love to all of you!

We'll be posting updates here throughout our trip, so follow along! At least that's the idea—we may have so much fun that we forget to update it.

We're excited!
